Schizophrenia is a chronic and severe mental disorder that affects a person’s ability to think, feel, and behave clearly. Schizophrenia is often considered as a very grave disease and people with the condition are among the most highly stigmatised and socially marginalized ones in our community.
World Schizophrenia Day, celebrated on May 24 every year, aims to bring awareness about this mental disorder and reduce stigma towards those affected by the condition.
